Manjeet
Manjeet is an MRes student researching interactions between AM fungi and plant pathogens. Specifically he is exploring how Macrophomina phaseolina in Sorghum bicolor affects the diversity and composition of AM fungi in the roots, and how the presence of AM fungi alters sorghum tolerance and resistance to M. phaseolina attack.

To understand the interactions between plant pathogen, host plant, and AM fungi Manjeet is leading a glasshouse experiment, and using analyses of plant nutritional chemistry, and defence chemistry (defence phytohormones), as well as DNA metabarcoding for AM fungi in host roots.

Manjeet is co-supervised by Prof. Jeff Powell and Dr Barsha Poudel (UniSQ)
